You can expect to pay around $2500.00 CDN for your registered English Bulldog.  He or she should come with a vets report card of good health, proven inoculations and a full one year health guarantee. There is no such recognized breed as a purebred English Bull dog without his or her papers of registration.       

Be very suspicious of anything less.

Under no circumstances should you part with your monies via Western Union or Wire Transfer!!! I have seen many advertisements for puppies which I thought were in Canada or The United States only to have a reply saying they will be shipped to me from Cameroon or some other country. Trust me don’t get sucked into that $500.00 Bullie.

PLEASE do not buy your Bullie from a PUPPY MILL OR A PET STORE. Bulldogs are very social animals and prefer the companionship of people not other dogs.  Due to their single coat they are not outside dogs!

Buyer beware of bullies been kept in outside kennels.

Check out your breeders breeding history!  For example, ask them how many litters they have had or plan for the upcoming year. This information can normally be found on their web sites because they are always boasting past litters, always seem to have puppies and are always informing you about upcoming litters.

A female bulldog should not be bred under the age of 18 months.  Due to the C-section needed to deliver her pups safely, breeding normally occurs once a year not on every heat cycle!  A female bulldog will usually have pups 3 times in her life due to scare tissue left behind after the C-section.

You also have breeders Selling dogs on behalf of a friend or third party. The first question you should be asking yourself is WHY!! Breeders do not get rid of dogs for no reason. In most cases there is something wrong with the dog and they do not want to have their kennel name associated with that particular dog.

Always buy your pup from the breeder who bred the pup. They know the pup the parents and health history.
